Every two years Grassroots Grantmakers checks in with funders who support active citizenship, local democracy and civic engagement at the block level with an e-survey that helps us learn how the work that we call grassroots grantmaking is evolving.

Over the past six years, the information that we have collected has enabled us to:

• Deepen our understanding of how funders are supporting people as change-makers and problem-solvers in their own communities;

• Learn about common practices, emerging trends, and promising innovations;

• Identify shared learning agendas and new sources of expertise.

First and foremost, we use this information to help you and other funders who are engaged in this work be more effective and increase the long-term viability and vitality of your work.

We also use this information to tell others about the field of grassroots grantmaking - working toward our shared vision of grassroots grantmaking as a strategy that is known, valued and effectively utilized by more funders.
